Med school orientation (Taken with instagram)
First day of orientation started today and we had a taste of how exams are done in med school. When they said that they were going to simulate a mock practical exam, I was like, sure, this is going to be cake, I’ve been doing this for four years now, and that annoying bell is not as terrifying as it once was. Boy, I was wrong! Sure the practical exam was exactly how we do it in undergrad, but I think I sorta for got that the last time I had a histology practical was a year ago. I was basically struck dumb at the images I saw under the microscope. I went in my mind from, “This looks familiar…” to “wait, I know this, wait… wait… crap, I forgot!” Of course there were a few instances that I was like, “Aha! I know what that is!” But they were rare and far in between in the 45 items questionnaire. It was probably a good thing that that whole thing, plus the also numbing theoretical exam, was not graded.
I feel like I’ve totally failed my professors in Biology.
